A Resource Mobilization Officer is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and securing funding from various sources like donors, foundations, corporations, and government agencies to support an organization’s programs and initiatives. This involves developing relationships with potential funders, crafting compelling proposals, managing donor expectations, and ensuring compliance with grant reporting requirements.
Key responsibilities of a Resource Mobilization Officer:
Donor Research and Prospecting:
- Identify potential donors aligned with the organization’s mission and goals.
- Conduct in-depth research on donor priorities, funding guidelines, and application procedures.
- Develop a comprehensive donor prospect pipeline.
Relationship Building:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with current and potential donors through regular communication and outreach.
- Organize donor visits, meetings, and presentations to showcase the organization’s work and impact.
Proposal Development:
- Craft compelling grant proposals, concept notes, and funding requests tailored to specific donor requirements.
- Ensure proposals include detailed project budgets, timelines, impact metrics, and clear communication of the organization’s needs.
Fundraising Strategies:
- Develop and execute fundraising strategies including corporate partnerships, individual giving campaigns, and events.
- Identify and leverage opportunities for co-funding and collaboration with other organizations.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Business Administration and any other relevant qualification.
Experience
A 3 years’ experience in Resource mobilization with a reputable Organization.
