BASKET FUND MECHANISM

Jodes grants management agency has set up a basket fund to support civil society organizations implement impactful projects in the areas of climate Change, good governance and accountability as well as the HIV/AIDS support in Uganda. Basket funding is a collection of resources from multiple donors that are used for a specific purpose.

This particular basket fund is a pooled financial mechanism where multiple donors are contributing funds to a single pot managed by JODES Grants Management Agency ltd. The funds are channeled to grantees or downstream partners through a fair and competitive process. Key aspects about this funding include;

National Coverage

Our grants target eligible civil society organization across the country. These include; National NGOs, Regional NGOs, Community based organizations and Faith based organizations.

Multiple donors:

Several development partners, government or institutions contribute money to the fund, creating a diverse funding source.   These include Foreign Embassies and Consulates, World Bank, Multi-lateral Organizations, Local Corporate Organizations, UN agencies such UN women, UNAIDS, UNDP, WHO, UNHCR, UNESCO, etc.

Streamlined process:

JODES Grants Management Agency ltd manages the entire grants management cycle from Pre- award to Post award management. 

Collaboration and partnership:

This Basket fund is facilitating collaboration between various stakeholders, including local communities, Development Partners, NGOs, and government agencies.
